Tessan Rådö

Vintage and antique dealer Tessan Rådö sources the dreamy finds of her business, even in her sleep. By leaving worries at the bedroom door and always having her nose dipped in at least two parallel books, she keeps her pace. We invited ourselves over for breakfast and a treasure hunt in her beautiful treasure chest of a villa, where she lives with her lovely family.

Our house:

A house built in the 1920’s just outside Stockholm.

We live here:

Tessan, Mikael, their kids Felix, 10 years old, Elin 7 and Sander their cockerpoolabradoodle, 1,5 years.

What we do:

Tessan is a vintage and antiques dealer who also takes on interior jobs. Follow her at @stocksundvintage on Instagram.

Tuesday evening ends at:

Around 10-11 PM, I love sleeping but also am a hopeless “nightowl”, feeling inspired and at ease in the evening.

Before turning out the lights, you always:

Read, I’ve loved reading since I was a kid. Also making our way through the Narnia books with the kids right now and everybody is enjoying the suspense of the ongoing story.

Who/what are sharing your bed:

My husband, no kids mostly and no dog. We have a 210 cm bed but everybody sleeps best in their own.

Normally you sleep in:

Mostly t-shirt and pajama bottoms.

The last dream you remember:

Haha, one of my most recurring dreams is actually of coming to a really good thrift shop and making some great finds. Always a sign that it’s time to maybe take a break from sourcing.

On your night stand we will probably find:

A pile of books, often reading two in parallel depending on mood.

Your best tip for a good night sleep would be:

Good pillows, good sheets and a newly made bed. Also, comes with having an old house, crisp air and curling up under the duvet.

Your evening beauty routine includes:

I’m not very into beauty as a thing. All my skincare is from the same brand, Maria Åkerberg, both because I like it and to make things easy. I enjoy their natural fragrances and mildness.

This keeps you sleepless at night:

I try leaving worries at the bedroom door, it mostly works.

Instead of counting sheep you:

Scroll on Instagram haha, never works.

The best thing about your bedroom :

We invested in a huge and great bed when moving in.

Your best midnight snack:

I always have a cup of my favorite organic green tea from Sibyllans called Gunpowder (not a great name these days but good tea). Also a complete chocolate addict.

Tuesday morning starts at:

7 AM, my husband luckily is a real morning person and takes the major part of the family morning routine.

Your alarm sounds like:

Always woken up by the sounds of dog and kids before it rings.

The first thing you see when you open your eyes are:

A pitch dark room, all of us are big fans of proper curtains.

Your morning mood could be described as:

Slow. Hands down one of my favorite things being self employed is starting the day at my own pace.

A normal breakfast would be like:

I have coffee before doing anything else and then porridge an hour later. Our new favorite thing is having a shot of Renee Voltaires apple cider vinegar drink with turmeric, ginger and chili.

Your birthday breakfast should be like:

My birthday also happens to be our wedding day, and we try to always spend it at our favorite hotel Ett Hem, having breakfast for hours, reading and enjoying kids and dog being lovingly cared for elsewhere.

Your morning beauty routine includes:

As I said not much of a beauty routine person so unfortunately no elaborate things to share. Taking a walk with the dog to wake up!

A dreamy weekend morning could be like:

Reading and discussing the weekend papers with candles lit and well-made coffee. We get up really early which isn’t always very dreamy but on the plus side this gives us endless time for breakfast before the kid’s Saturday sport activities start.

My dos and don’ts when making the bed:

Preaching to the choir here, but I think sheets are really important, the feel and quality of the cotton.

Also, we just have to ask. How can one get a hold of your art, and do you have any upcoming exhibitions this summer?
