Why do we spend a third of our lives sleeping when the hours of the day don’t seem to be enough for any of us? Some would say it’s because we need to save energy, others that resting our bodies also help with other biological functions. Now, there is new evidence which suggests that the purpose of sleep actually might be to forget some of the thousands and thousands of new things we learn every day, leaving behind only the most important memories.
