”The toothbrush is on par with the plastic competitors but with the added benefit of being better for the environment.”
We just love good habits that combine appealing aesthetics and benefaction. Therefore we’ve teamed up with organic oral care label The Humble Co. to bring you a great dental kit when you shop at Midnatt right now. We had a chat with Oskar Holmblad about the brand’s ambition to be humble.
What can you tell us about your toothbrushes?
The Humble Brush is designed in Sweden and developed by dentists. It is made out of biodegradable, naturally antibacterial and panda-friendly bamboo and the bristles are made out of nylon-6 by the worlds largest producer of bristles, DuPont. As far as functionality goes, this means that the toothbrush is on par with the plastic competitors but with the added benefit of being better for the environment.
What’s the story behind The Humble Co?
It all started in 2014 when our CEO, then dentist-student, Noel Abdayem volunteered in Jamaica. He noticed two unsettling things, in particular, one was that many children didn’t get their basic oral-care needs met and then secondly the abundance of plastic toothbrushes washing up on the beaches of Jamaica. He came back to Sweden determined to find a solution, and this marks the conception of Humble Brush and Humble Smile Foundation.
It is with a mixture of horror and delight that we want to try your charcoal toothpaste – why is it good?
Charcoal toothpaste is getting increasingly popular due to the alleged whitening effect of activated charcoal. Activated charcoal has been used in medicine since ancient times since it does a good job of binding harmful bacteria, viruses, and substances. In toothpaste, this has proven to help with removing stains from the surface of the teeth, keeping your smile white!
After replacing our plastic toothbrushes – what else could we change in our morning and evening routine to become more humble to the environment?
Turn off the tap while brushing!
We are all about cuddled up evenings, blissful mornings, and everything in between. What’s your best tip for a good night’s sleep?
My number one tip for a good nights sleep is to go screen-free one hour before heading to bed. Pick up a good book and wind down with a nice cup of caffeine-free tea!
